Do you like robots, AI & looking at delicious food on a conveyor belt? Consider this place. Cute robot delivers your drink to you. Order food not on the conveyor belt via the touch screen & it moves at rapid speed on a belt above the conveyor belt for your retrieval. Around $3.50 per dish so if you don't like it, no biggie. The waiter explained the intricacies of picking up the food item & service was good with refills of hot green tea. Fresh sushi & a fun experience. Come try it! Tip: Sushi Salmon is good. Tempura ordered via the menu is a good serving size too for sharing.

Great place to chill. I usually go there after work and enjoy whatever passes on the belt. If what I want is not there, the staff are readily available to help. Great service, excellent food and portions.

This place is really fun and a cool place to spend with friends or on a date! Pros: love the fun factor of revolving sushi- it's such a fun concept. There's a good variety and you can order from a little computer at your table. I loved the little robot that brings drinks. If you eat 15 plates and insert them into the return slot you get a prize! Service was really friendly and attentive. Everyone was super helpful. The fried fish with red bean ice cream was so delicious! Cons: they had Toto toilets which was so cool to see but the toilets didn't have any toilet paper (in either stall). For some reason the women's stall was locked. A lot of the options weren't available on the rotation so we ordered them from the screen.

I really like the food here. A little hack you can order the exact sushi you want via the tablet. I wish someone had told us that when they sat us down. They also have things in the tablet that don't come on the conveyor belt the wraps are definitely the best bang for your buck. The ambience is very busy gives me very authentic Tokyo vibe. Staff just seems like it needs a little bit more training and it is quite a expensive.

The thing about Kura Revolving Sushi Bar is that... it seems like it ought to be a fixture in a tourist/resort town or something. Not, as it is, in shopping plaza in Skokie, Illinois. The novelty is its biggest factor. You grab a seat (reserve a table online or via the app... it's crowded), and you allow the conveyor belt with sushi pieces to scroll past you. When you find something you're interested in, you pop the capsule and grab the plate. Eat the sushi and then deposit the plate into the built-in plate dispenser/counter. Repeat. In the interim, you can watch the animations on the tableside display, order additional food/drink from the display, or see how close you are to getting a capsule dispensed for... you guessed it! Depositing more plates! The sushi is average... perhaps a little above average and you can get as wide a variety as you like. Perhaps you're too far down the line on the belt? Then the pickings are slim. You'd best order directly from the kitchen and have it delivered specially to your table. Prices are medium-high. You are paying for the novelty. The area is crowded. The volume is above average. The servers try to be helpful, but they can't always figure out what you need to do and overcome the technology as well. If you don't know what that previous sentence means... you'll find out. Overall, you don't really need to interact with any humans after being seated. You can do everything through the terminal and the little robot that delivers you drinks.

Pleasantly surprised by this place! I'm no stranger to sushi by all means and have been spoiled with all of the great places in the city, but I was still excited to see what this restaurant had to offer. Came on a Saturday and basically had no wait for lunch time. My friend and I had never been here before, so we were told that someone would come over to explain how things work. Lots of time passed and no one came, so we just figured it out on our own. Pretty straightforward process and a cool experience for anyone who's new to the sushi scene or just wants a fun outing with friends or family. We honestly ordered mostly all salmon. We kept ordering garlic ponzu salmon over and over again because it was so good. I just recovered from food poisoning from raw seafood a few weeks ago somewhere else, so I was definitely a little bit on edge, but the fish quality tasted fine! Rice was seasoned nicely, and the fish to rice ratio was 10/10. Again, I can't speak on the other types of fish, but I'd definitely come back for the salmon. We also ordered the takoyaki which came out steaming hot, but the batter still felt a bit undercooked on the inside. Pro tips: -Press the plate edge down a bit to get the top to open -Order crispy rice dishes or anything that's cooked/fried straight from the kitchen for the best texture and freshest taste Overall, sweet addition to the suburbs. I wish this existed when I was still living there haha. I will say that the set price for all the plates can rack up a pretty hefty bill, but again...this place is definitely for an experience rather than just a standard meal, so I get it. I was happy to see so many kids there! I remember a time where sushi was "yucky" to most of the people around me, but to see younger generations enjoying this type of cuisine (maybe they ordered ramen or udon tho hahaha) is pretty cool!
